Garlic Buttered shrimp

A rich, buttery, sweet-savory shrimp dish loaded with garlic flavor. Quick to cook, budget-friendly, and perfect with rice!

📝 INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kilo (1 kg) shrimp, cleaned and deveined

  • ½ cup butter

  • 1 whole bulb garlic, minced

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 3 tablespoons ketchup

  • 1 cup Sprite (Mismo size)

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder

  • 3 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon chopped onion leaves / spring onions (optional)

👩‍🍳 COOKING PROCEDURE

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the butter and let it melt completely.

  3. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant and lightly golden.

  4. Add the shrimp and stir-fry for about 2 minutes, or until the shrimp turn orange.

  5. Pour in 1 cup Sprite, then add:

    • Soy sauce

    • Ketchup

    • Brown sugar

    • Cumin powder

    • Oyster sauce

    • Ground black pepper

  6. Mix well and let it cook for another 3 minutes.

  7. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.

  8. Allow the sauce to simmer and thicken, stirring occasionally.

  9. Return the shrimp to the pan and toss until well coated with the sauce.

  10. Sprinkle chopped onion leaves (optional).

  11. Serve hot.
