Homemade Milk Ice Candy

🥛 Ingredients

  • 1 litre fresh milk (or liquid milk)
  • 1 tin (390–410 ml) evaporated milk (e.g., Peak Milk)
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • ½–1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour (cornstarch), optional for a creamier texture
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Small clean ice candy sachets and rubber bands

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Corn Flour

If using corn flour, mix it with ¼ cup of the fresh milk until smooth and free of lumps.

2. Heat the Milk

Pour the remaining fresh milk into a saucepan. Add the sugar and heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.

3. Thicken the Mixture

Stir in the dissolved corn flour and continue stirring until the mixture thickens slightly. Do not allow it to boil vigorously.

4. Add the Remaining Ingredients

Remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the evaporated milk, powdered milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

5. Cool Completely

Let the mixture cool to room temperature before filling the sachets.

6. Fill the Sachets

Using a funnel, carefully pour the mixture into clean ice candy sachets, filling each about ¾ full. Seal tightly with rubber bands.

7. Freeze

Lay the sachets flat in the freezer and freeze for 6–8 hours, or overnight, until completely frozen.

8. Enjoy!

Serve straight from the freezer for a delicious, creamy homemade frozen treat.
