For Brushing
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp milk (egg wash)

👩🍳 Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and instant yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and the egg. Mix until a rough dough forms.
- Add the softened butter and knead for 10–15 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1–1½ hours, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased 9×5-inch (23×13 cm) loaf pan.
- Cover and let it rise again for 45–60 minutes, until the dough rises above the edge of the pan.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Brush the top with the egg wash and bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the pan and brush with melted butter while still warm for a soft, shiny crust.
- Cool completely before slicing.
